Maybe you are dealing with some kind of health crisis and have not received the answers to why your crisis exists.
Maybe you are not dealing with a crisis at this moment, but you know that something is not quite right. You have cloudy thinking, no stamina, a weakened immune system, an unsettled digestive tract or are in pain.
Or quite possibly you are doing a lot for your health, loving your health and want to know what else you can do to stay on top of your health.
I was inspired to write this book to have a far more reaching impact on this world today.
Why? I know that no matter how much money we spend on the latest drug or surgical advancement, our health outcomes continue to get poorer and poorer every year. There is more cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity than ever before even though we are spending more money to “fix” these crises.
How have we come to a point in our health that this generation of children is not expected to live as long as their parents?
It is time to wake up and hear the truth.
Having a father who had his first heart attack at the age of 42 evokes fear not only for my life, but also for that of my children. I vividly remember being a young boy and staying out in the car because I did not have the courage to walk into the hospital to see my father in an ill state. He stood at the window and waved at me. Not only did I not want to see that again, I never wanted my kids to be in the same position.
I started asking questions about health and wellness. I realized at an early age I had a true passion to lead people to healthy lives, to live life to their fullest. I excelled in the sciences field. I had to make the decision of where to go after high school. Where do I take this passion? My passion to help others and my strength in sciences led me to the health care field. But what in the health care field? After shadowing the programs at the medical schools in Michigan, something did not feel 100% congruent inside of me. Be that as it may, as an undergrad, I still continued down a pre-med route.
One night I attended a biology club party (I know, sounds exciting to you, right?), but truthfully that night changed my life forever. At the party, knowing just a handful of people, I began to mingle with others and I met a gentleman named Ryan. As conversations typically start when you meet someone, we began talking about what we were going to school for. I mentioned that I was going down the pre-med route but was undecided about the direction. He told me he was getting his pre-requisites in order to attend chiropractic school. I said, “Chiropractic school, why?”
I had been going to a chiropractor since I was in seventh grade for a hip injury. It worked like magic. The hip pain that caused me not to be able to walk was gone after my first visit and I was able to return to playing basketball. So, I understood the value of chiropractic care. But to be honest, I couldn’t see how exciting it would be to crack backs all day.
